Week 3 Update
Hi everyone. I'm back with my second dev update. Here's all that's happened in the past week.
This week I made a much more complete layout for level 2. As part of that I ended up making some improvements to camera movement so that it could change direction and speed throughout the level.
Since I tried to have enemies coming from more directions than just in front of you I gave the player an additional fire mode that allows them to shoot backwards.
I also made some assets for the background.
I added a bit of scripting the the boss sequences so now the boss has a small intro and there's a sequence where you fly away at the end of the level. I also made a pretty cool health bar for the boss, complete with animations.
I readded the score to the hud.
Finally, I made a nifty level transition animation which you can see a bit of in the healthbar animation I posted above.
I feel like I still have a ton of work to do and only one week left but I'm sure I'll put something together. It'll probably be a bit rough around the edges though.

It's a horizontal shmup this time. Also, it's got options and more levels!
